Detoxification

Detoxification is crucial for our bodies to clear out the toxins that we’re constantly exposed to and maintain a system that is able to function at its optimum. The liver is the principle organ of detoxification and the kidneys and colon assist the liver in removing toxins. Toxins are then excreted from the body by the kidneys, large intestine, skin, and lungs.  Detoxification programs have become common because we are exposed to so many toxins on a daily basis such as pesticides, herbicides, food additives, heavy metals, chemicals, and medications. Unfortunately, not everyone’s detoxification system can keep up with the onslaught of toxins we’re exposed to. If a person’s system is overloaded with toxins and chemicals these substances can wreak havoc on our immune, endocrine, nervous, and reproductive systems.

There are numerous ways to detox the body including IV chelation and oral chelation. These methods are effective and have been proven to remove heavy metals from the body however they do come with some risk of reaction to the chelating agents and can be expensive. There are other methods available to detox the body without injecting or ingesting other chemicals including diet, specific supplements, herbs, and hydrotherapy.
